Globe Records
The label started a Mexican series in 1945 by recording Lydia Mendoza and Santiago Jiménez at a radio station in San Antonio. In time, the LA-based Globe became known for releasing both local artists and popular artists from neighboring states. Globe released records by artists who catered to all sectors of the immigrant community, from Tejano luminaries like Jose A. Morante’s Trio Conquistadores to the swing quintet Los Chucos.
