Los Lobos

Los Lobos is a Grammy-award winning rock band from East Los Angeles that has made a career of blending the Mexican vernacular music with rock and roll, blues, country, soul, and other influences. They scored a number one hit with “La Bamba” for a Richie Valens biopic of the same name in 1987, but their success has never been limited to Mexican American audiences. Los Lobos’ mixture of traditional and modern sounds has served as a beacon for younger artists for nearly five decades, and they continue to write, record, and tour today. In 2021, Los Lobos received the National Heritage Fellowship awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
