Quetzal
Hailing from East Los Angeles, this bilingual Chicano rock band expertly fuses son jarocho from the state of Veracruz with contemporary sounds driven by the raw emotion and communal element of a fandango. Their music celebrates biculturalism while remaining deeply rooted in social justice issues facing communities of color. A direct descendant of older Chicano traditions, Quetzal’s music is sharpened by the band’s ability to shine a light on the need for social and political change in our world today.
