Dueto Azteca

Dueto Azteca was comprised of María Padilla of Hermanas Padilla and her husband Guillermo Quintero, a vocalist and violinist for the Mariachi Vargas of Tecalitlán. The couple married in 1946 and a year later began recording on Azteca Records. Quintero also managed Mauricio Calderon’s La Casa de Musica, a job he assumed after Calderon’s death. Dueto Azteca also recorded with Imperial and Columbia following the dissolution of the Azteca label.
